Midseason (Week 7) Rankings

Image
With Week 7 officially in the books, we have entered the Fantasy Football midseason. Per tradition, to honor this special occasion I include some in-depth first half analysis of each team position-by-position. I don't intend to break tradition this year, but to change things up (and honestly, to simplify an excessively tedious and time-consuming process) I have decided to use letter grades for each position to go along with the narrative for each week. Additionally, starting this week I will be including each team's best and worst performer for each week, who will be denoted as the STUD and DUD of the week, respectively. Perhaps some of you more experienced owners will not find this year's edition overly exciting? Oh well, not to worry. I have something even bigger planned in the near future... 1. Goff My Lawn Guy (+1) QB: B- WR: A+ RB: A+ TE: B+ FLEX: F The Lawn Guys clutched up on MNF (God, that feels weird to type out) and moved into a virtual tie for first place in the ...

Week 6 Rankings

Uncertainty abounds. In the NFL, undefeated teams are no more, and so too in fantasy, the last homely team is no more. With this sombre thought in mind, let us reflect on the state of the Boys League. 1. Got Vax? (+1) The Vax continued their winning ways this week, in no small part to the exceptional performance of Raheem Mostert (34.2). Aside from one tough loss, this squad has quietly and consistently put together a string of performances to hold onto first place, but that might just be in jeopardy this upcoming week, when they face off against: 2. Goff My Lawn Guy (+1) The Monday Night Sillies of last season almost came back (especially if the refs didn't negate a Derrick Henry run for a bs illegal formation penalty), but another victory was secured for the Lawn Chair Guys, keeping pace with their Big (Pharma) Brother in the West. Travis Etienne (23.3) continued his strong stretch, which was thankfully enough to account for the near disappearance of Josh Allen and his referee bu...

Week 5 Power Rankings

This week was all about the blowouts in the NFL, and the Boys League followed suit. The closest matchup had a 23 point difference, and none of the result were in much doubt at 4pm on Sunday. With that lackluster production, a boring intro. Hopefully you don't find the rankings so.... 1. Flying Geckos (0) The Geckos owner did his best impression of Coach Prime after last week's nail-biting win: “You better get me right now. This is the worst we’re gonna be. You better get me right now.” True to his word (which he never actually said, to my knowledge, but our reporter was in the locker room...), the Geckos turned around and lead the league in points this week, lead by signal-callers Jared Goff (27.44) and the re-emerging Justin Fields (32.98). A loss may come eventually, but when this team is clicking they look competitive, nigh unbeatable! 2. Got Vax? (+1) The Vax made the most of their shot at redemption, putting forth a solid bounce-back performance to grab a win to keep them ...

Week 4 Power Rankings

After one week of interdivision play, neither coast managed to claim supremacy, but a few teams certainly did! 1. Flying Geckos (0) The Geckos certainly didn't look like they had this one in the bag, but Christian McCaffrey (pictured above) 48.7 fantasy points provided just enough liftoff to get them back in front. To SNF, and a 5 point advantage and a kicker was all our unlikely heroes needed to outlast Patrick Mahomes (who knew?), and reign supreme in this week's Power Rankings. The last undefeated team. 2. Let's Go Brandon! (+2) Man, how about that Brandon? Aiyuk, I mean. With 20.8 points this week, he announced a strong return from injury, as did his namesake fantasy team. While perhaps not the best of wins against the strongest of opponents, the LGB(TQ+?!) Have brought themselves back to .500, and have done so with enough gusto to be placed here. 3. Got Vax? (-1) Maybe it's just me, but the heavyweight matchup of the week didn't quite live up to the billing. ...
