Week 3 Power Rankings

Image
I shall resume the introductory segment in Week 4, where the rankings will gain some semblance of stability. I ask that you endure this exquisitely bland format for one more week. 1. Make Some Noise (+1) A phenomenal start continues for the Noisemakers as they cruise to a 3-0 record on the young season. Burrow and Prescott almost grabbed 30 points each, and young receivers Rashee Rice and Malik Nabers each had similar production. That is a recipe for success (as well as playing the lowest scoring team of the week), and they will look to carry that into next week as the only undefeated team remaining. 2. So...what's going on? (+3) It's been quite the jump for this team in the rankings, the result of putting up two straight strong performances after a dud of an opening week. Derek Henry (30.4) might have hurt me in fantasy, but he certainly hurt the Cowboys more. A silver lining for me, and an excellent development for Joe's fantasy implications. That's a win-win, I think...

A Second Power Rankings (Week 2)

  1. The Pouncing Chubbs (+1) The Chubbs scraped by with a win this last weekend, but a victory is still just that, and it leaves Joe's squad as only one of two undefeated teams left in the Boys League. When you can live through mediocre performances from the likes of Josh Allen (9.76) and injuries to key contributors in Cooper Kupp, you feel good about your chances. The re-emergence of one Kyler Murray (28.54) will do that for a team, as well as the recent acquisition of Ja'Marr Chase. 2. Make Some Noise (+3) It didn't turn out to be necessary against this week's opponent, but the Noisemakers paced the league in points with a robust 162 mark. There were strong contributions all over the lineup, but the headliner was certainly a breakout performance from rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers (28.7). The only other unbeaten team in the League in the early going, but due to the parody of the league and untimely scheduling it is very likely that only one team will remain loss-...

Week 1 Power Rankings

1. The Flying Geckos The reigning champions started their season off strong, not only securing the victory but doing so with the most points scored of any team in Week 1. A surprising 22 points from Alvin Kamara and 23 from the eternally reliable Mike Evans helped overcome what looked (for a time) like an insurmountable deficit. But this squad proved that a weekend matchup, much like a season, is not won on Thursday Night Football. 2. The Pouncing Chubbs The PC crowd has to be thrilled with how their team has begun the young campaign. Josh Allen (31.18) was his usual stellar self, but the return of Cooper Kupp (32) was a welcome surprise after a dismal 2023 season. This team has the horses, Billy, boy I tell ya. 3. Air Rusty Always nice to get that very first win. Here's to many more! 4. Doctor Pain Injuries are already piling up for the good (soon-to-be) doctor. CMC, Wilson, and Nacua either started the week injured or sustained one in game. Presumably well used to this, the Pain ...

2024 Preseason Power Rankings

Image
Welcome again, new and old owners alike. With the inclusion of two new owners, and the institution of a new roster format, this year's draft has already started off with some strange twists and turns. I have the feeling we are in for a wild ride where 2024 fantasy is concerned. Gentlemen, I will not lie to you. The Yahoo app clearly does not contain the technological capacity to evaluate our collective and individual genius, and so the grades received by all are null and void in my eyes. Flowers to those who earned high marks, but true praise is reserved for the drafted teams that I  favor. In the course of this piece of profound literature, I shall attempt to impart upon you the majesty of each team, their (potentially) tragic flaw, and one prediction provided for by the Great Oracle himself. (Praise him, whose wisdom and prognostication shall never be in doubt!) One final point before we begin. I have taken the liberty of using the names of each owner instead of current team name...
