2025 Preseason Power Rankings

Image
Here we are again, fellow owners. The Boys League has been renewed for a fifth season. This medium cannot properly express my excitement and eagerness for the NFL season to begin, and the fantasy football season with it. Now, you've all heard this before, but I want to restate how disgusted I am by Yahoo's ranking and grading system. It is clear their ADP criteria does not account for our league setting, nor does it factor in our ownership group's savviness over that of other inferior fantasy football leagues (the names of which I will not utter here). It has a team finishing 14-0, for crying out loud! Rest assured, dear owners, I have barely considered the Yahoo rankings in my own, which we shall get to presently. You all know that last season I provided (or at least attempted to provide) predictions for each team in the fantasy football landscape. Unfortunately, the relationship between the Great Oracle ( May his beard grow ever longer, and his potions remain ever-poten...

The Ultimate Power Rankings (Week 14)

And with that, the regular season has concluded. What an exciting season it's been, and now we are on to bigger and better things in the postseason. Well, at least, six of us are. 1. So...what's going on? (0)  [Preseason Power Rank: 4] The WGO had an excellent season, capped off with a cruise-control victory to put them at double digit wins. Some good performances, but it was WR Jordan Addison (39.3) who stole the show in Minnesota. Now on a bye, this team gets to take an extra step forward towards a goal that just barely eluded them last season. MVP: Derrick Henry - the king had an excellent first season in Baltimore, providing consistent reliability at the RB slot. 2. Mixon It Up (+2)  [Preseason Power Rank: 9] The Mixons have come a long was from their lackluster beginnings. A few savvy trades and acquisitions have made this a completely different team, and it shows with their second division title in three seasons. Now they have the luxury of waiting to see who...

The Penultimate Rankings (Week 13)

Image
There is one matchup remaining for each team as we enter this week. For each team, something hangs in the balance, whether that be winning their division, locking up a playoff spot, or avoiding the dreaded league punishment. A quick go-around to see how everyone performed, and what needs to be done to see their dreams come true, or keep their worst nightmare as a thing reserved for bedtime. Oh, and on a side note, if you were mathematically eliminated for competing for the division, I opted instead to put down your chances for making the Music Video come this offseason. Hope you find that helpful. 1. So...what's going on? (+1) The WGO got back to their winning ways this week, in what ended up being a thriller and undisputed matchup of the week. This season has already been incredibly successful, but one more win would lock up the 1 seed, as the cherry on top of a great Sunday. Man, Jameis is a roller coaster, but he was fantasy magic on MNF (35.98). Playoff Odds: Clinched Division ...

Week 11 Rankings (Playoff Mode)

Image
With the deadline rankings last week, we have entered the stretch run in the Boys League, where the games carry more meaning, not from a mathematical standpoint, but the pressure is building in the minds of our fantasy owners, and each win or loss is vital to their playoff chances and mental wellbeing. In accordance with tradition, the dreaded playoff percentage number returns to the rankings, and will keep track of the status of each team every week to see where they stand, both in terms of 'making it to the dance' and potential playoff seeding. In the words of one fantasy owner, things are about to get "spicy spicy". 1. So...what's going on? (0) The WGO continued their winning ways this week, maintaining an undisputed state of dominion over the rest of the Boys League. Joe Burrow (29.04) and Jameis Winston (26.6) continued their strong fantasy production (both in disappointing losses) and Breece Hall (31.1) lead the team with his two touchdown performance on Sun...

Week X Rankings (And Trade Deadline Analysis!)

Image
We have hit the double digits in matchups in the fantasy season, and are fast approaching  the trade deadline. With such a convergence, you had best believe I was going to acknowledge it with a semi-spefual edition of the Power Rankings. This week, I will provide a look at each team's notable transactions (sponsored by Fox's Fun Facts), as well as a rudimentary address of each team's glaring weakness/biggest need. After Friday, such needs can only be able to be addressed in waivers and prayers to the football gods. Let's get into it, shall we? 1. So...what's going on? (+2) The WGO continued their winning ways this weekend, thanks to the charitable lack of point contribution s from their opponent. The greatness of Joe Burrow (33.72) and Chase Brown (22.4) on an electric TNF was followed by what can only be described as textbook mediocrity. Still, one cannot deny the team the best record and sole possession of a division title it's flowers, so here they sit in our...
