A Second Power Rankings (Week 2)

1. The Pouncing Chubbs (+1)

The Chubbs scraped by with a win this last weekend, but a victory is still just that, and it leaves Joe's squad as only one of two undefeated teams left in the Boys League. When you can live through mediocre performances from the likes of Josh Allen (9.76) and injuries to key contributors in Cooper Kupp, you feel good about your chances. The re-emergence of one Kyler Murray (28.54) will do that for a team, as well as the recent acquisition of Ja'Marr Chase.

2. Make Some Noise (+3)

It didn't turn out to be necessary against this week's opponent, but the Noisemakers paced the league in points with a robust 162 mark. There were strong contributions all over the lineup, but the headliner was certainly a breakout performance from rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers (28.7). The only other unbeaten team in the League in the early going, but due to the parody of the league and untimely scheduling it is very likely that only one team will remain loss-less after Week 3. Can it be the new kid on the block? First place in the rankings is on the table.

3. The Flying Geckos (-2)

The Geckos fought hard, and took a tough loss against a strong opponent in Week 2, and the injury to insult was the loss of Tua Tugavailoa (concussion) to the IR. The unforeseeable surge of Alvin Kamara (44.0) and the Saints offense has been integral to the start to the season so far, but recent roster adjustments will need to step up in the likely event that such performances are not sustainable.

4. Air Rusty (-1)

Despite the two-headed monster at the quarterback positions (Derek Carr - 22.82, Baker Mayfield - 19.8), the Rustys in general didn't have enough to gain a second win on the season. The Tua injury has wider ramifications than just for one fantasy team, and perhaps no one felt that more than wide receiver Tyreek Hill (6.6). The roster is still very balanced, so there shouldn't be too much concern for the long-term success of this expansion team.

5. So...what's going on? (+5)

The WRs came to play in this one, with Chris Godwin (24.7) finally having himself a day after long stretches in Mike Evan's shadow, with Devante Adams (26.0) helping his real-life football team achieve an incredible comeback win against the Ravens. Oh, and Lamb put up 19 points as well. Because of course he did.

6. Saquon These Nuts (+2)

WELCOME TO THE NFL, Marvin Harrison Jr. (29.0)!!! This Arizona offense has looked like fantasy gold this season, and the talent oozing from this man will be a big part of that. The quarterback play has been a bit lackluster for this squad, but that was expected, and a win this week shows that there is enough talent around the roster to pick up the slack. If this team reaches full steam, watch out!

7. Doctor Pain (-3)

Outside of the strong performances of Devon Achane (29.5) and Jordan Mason (17.4), there wasn't much to love from this team in Week 2. The loss of Puka, my beautiful Hawaiian prince, cuts deep, but what this team is will have to now be put on hold, as this year's first big trade just went down, netting a top flight QB in Josh Allen. Against all odds, this team has a QB1.

8. Got vax? (-2)

The Vax had the benefit of playing the team at number 6, which means they picked up their first win this season. It was a mostly solid performance all around, but the encouraging showings from Amon-Ra St. Brown (22.9) and George Kittle (20.6) surely makes you hopeful for the future. If you say it is not you that feels this way, dear reader, I ask only this: why do you hate Zach?

9. Goff My Lawn Guy (-2)

The Lawn Guys never got out of the lawn chair on Sunday, with the exceptions of Nico Collins (27.5) and Devonta Smith (20.6). Other than that, I have little to say about this squad, which is more than it has to say about itself thus far.

10. Unlimited Bowers (-1)

"When, in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes,

I all alone beweep my outcast state,

And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,

And look upon myself, and curse my fate."

- William Shakespeare
